This week for teach it up the people from WGC had a teacher only day but a nice lady was kind enough to let us use the're hall and some basket balls then we got some free time. After about 10 mins christene called us in to ask if we want to play a game we said yes so we got into a line and we had to dribble with a ball to the other side and try to shoot it in it was lots of fun!!!!!!!!
On Thursday the 2nd of June it was the legendary cross country day where all the students from years 5-8 line up to race on a course that climbs up bolton st then down the botanical gardens then through to the finish. From our class there were 7 people who came in the top 4 and are going to CENTRAL ZONES!
On Tuesday this week, we played a game called pie face. Pie face is a game when you put whipped cream on a plastic fake hand and then you spin a spinner. The number you get on the spinner is the number of times you turn the handle and if you get lucky ( or unlucky if you disliked whipped cream) you will get creamed in the face.
On Wednesday 11 March 2016, we went to see the real Liz Pichon. On the way we rode a double decker bus to go to lyall bay school.when we arrived to lyall bay school , we were one of the first school there but a few minutes later the hall was jam packed. Liz Pichon drew a cool monster for us and then told us how to draw the Tom Gates book covers and told us how she got inspiration for Tom Gates. After that she signed books and went away. On the way back we rode the double decker bus (again) and by the time we got back it was already 3:30.
Last week we started and finished our discovery projects and shared them with our class. All classes had to finish their discovery project within 4 days! There were lots of different types of presentations and all of them were exciting. There were prezis , posters and models of lots of different events . Although there were very few cheaters who copied and pasted pages from the internet but we had lots of fun building our presentations and exploring our minds.
Today for fitness we played a game called Beat the beep. This game works by using a speaker that beeps and every time it beeps you have to run. There is a line of cones on each end of the court where we start and its also the place where you have to run.Eventually the beeps get faster and faster until you're sprinting suicides. At the end only a few people were left and they were the winners. On the first of April (April Fools!) we decided to have a kakapo syndicate pool party. Jason booked us 1 hour of the swimming pool to have fun, so we did this before the pool closed. It was madness since the inflatables were out but we had lots of fun (including ms plant) and we were happy to be in the pool for the last time. (until term 4)
In room 7 our class love to play dodgeball with Jason. We love it sooooooooo much that about 90% of the time we play outside or in the hall we play DODGEBALL. But it depends on good behaviour and showing the values.
Early in the year, we went to Te papa and we saw the Dream works animation. First we saw all of the first sketches for kung fu panda, Madagascar and lots of other animations. Then we saw all of the sculptures and small characters. After that we saw a dragons eye view of Berk. Then we saw fabulous drawings for the Croods and lots of other animations. Then we made way to the small worlds and the animation building centre. After all that we went to frankits park and we walked back to school.
