At the moment our class is working on some LEGO animations. We started by planning our animations on a burger. Sorry, we meant planning sheet that LOOKS like a burger. The chart had all the key events of our story,(we did this in groups of 1, 2 or 3.) Once we had filled out the plan we started writing our script. Ms Parker showed us how to write a script, using a scene from How to Train Your Dragon as an example. We then started working on our scripts. After that we will do a quick story board, and then move onto shooting.(We are using stop motion LEGO or Paper Cut.) We will keep up with you in our animation.
This week we have started our literacy and maths circles in Room 5 we have four groups yellow, red, green and blue in literacy we have three options for what to do we have quick write, story elements and pet files in pet files we have a short booklet with two pages to read after that we write a description about the pet we've just read about story elements is when we read a book and put the main elements from the story and quick write is were we write a project from once upon a slime. This week Room 5 went to Capital E to do an animation session in the media lab. First we walked there in buddies, and those buddies were our partners for the whole session. We were welcomed by a friendly instructor named Sam. First we sat at the front on wheelie chairs, and Sam told us we were going to have to earn our tablet licences. First we did a maze with the tablet pen (it was HARD), and then Sam called us back and he all gave us our invisible tablet licences. Then, with our buddy, we went on a program called Animationish. We used wiggledoodleish to write our names and we used 3 frames and we don't recommend watching them if you are epileptic. We then came back and Sam taught us to use flipbookish to make a ball bounce. First we would draw a picture of a ball and then we would duplicate the frame move it a little bit and rotate it repeat. But when the ball hit the ground we would squish it a little bit on the opposite side and then Sam let our imaginations run free and make our own animation. Here are the the ones made by the bloggers. In the last week, Room 5 have been finishing some art that we started several weeks ago. It was a self portrait. Sort of. What we did first was take a photo of our selves,(the class photographers did this), then printed them out. After that we traced our faces with vivid, but we only traced the important lines. Then we got a piece of thin paper and drew the important lines on it. When we had done that we drew those lines onto normal A4 paper and then colored them in with hot and cold colors. Then we cut them out and glued them onto colored paper. We all enjoyed creating this art. Thanks for reading.
Welcome to the Room 5 blog. In Room 5 we do a lot of exciting things like art so we will be sharing what we have been doing.
So far we have been doing art, class pet writing and The Te Pa Pa trip. We will be doing more interesting things like making our own stop-motion animation (Lego or paper cut.). We hope that we can get the great blogs on this website so you can reading. From this post on you will read about all the interesting things we have done. Enjoy! In Room 5 we are starting animation. We have just started doing it so we have not done much but we will keep you up to date when we start our work.
In Room 5 we have been writing to persuade Miss Parker to get us a class pet. Some people want dogs some people want mice and some people want fish and turtles first we made a brainstorm and then we constructed our story with at least three oreos: opinion reason example opinion.
